Wow, what an honor to open and back the great Chubby Checker!! We were originally going to open only, but Chubby's manager, Gary did a crash rehearsal with us just hours before, and Viola!!! We be with the Man!!!
The weather was getting spooky (snow!) but it held long enough. Chubby really braved the elements during the last show.
Here I am just feet away while Chubby sings "Lets Do the Twist!!!" That's one for my rock & roll scrap book. And hey, Chubby and his manger Gary are some of the nicest people in Rock & Roll. What Sweethearts.
A special thanks goes out to Tom Torres for filling in for our ailing drummer Jim Willey. He was definitely in the hot seat and did such a great job!!!!
To the man that put it all together, my good friend Z94 FM's own Russ Davidson, as always, You're the Man Russ!!! And finally a great big hug to Cathleen and the whole crew at My Buddies Place for breaking your backsides to make the venue a pleasure!!! Lets do it again on Cinco De Mayo Weekend!!!!!
